Self-Regulation and Riding
Mastering Emotional Regulation for Effective Horse Riding She pursed her lips and held her breath, then her horse spooked. This is a common reaction while riding. Horses have an amazing sense of feeling our nervous systems. As a trainer, I can tell you to "relax", but it is the rider that will need to do the real work. Learning how to breathe properly, recognizing when you are dysregulated, and adjusting your emotions to return to your authentic self is an incredible tool for

Want to change your world in 2026?
Begin each day with gratitude. Let me capitalize that GRATITUDE! Starting a 28 day challenge of 'writing out 10 things I am grateful for and why' seemed difficult in the beginning. Each day I come up with 10 NEW things, or people that I am thankful for and why. Then I reread the list and say a heartful Thank You after each one. Saddle Fitting

I would like to correlate the same scenario with horses and saddles. When a saddle presses against a horses scapula or pinches the trepezius muscule, they too will suffer pain which often goes undetermined until it is too late. I know a little about saddle fitting, but I am not an expert. Also, just like you didn't buy one pair of shoes to last

Christmas Special
Out of ideas what to give that special granddaughter for Christmas? Experiences is a great gift! Our Holiday special is one private lesson with Cheri the owner/head trainer at Pine Lake Pastures and one lesson with a Junior Trainer. Two lessons for $100. Riding lessons teach more than how to ride a horse. We teach how to self regulate, breath and learn communication with animals and humans. This farm is more than a riding academy; this is training for leadership in life. Give

HORSES/RIDERS FINISH STRONG
I am grateful for this past summer of training students and horses and the opportunity to share in their successful show season! Thank you to all the parents that allowed their children to participate in the shows. It was a lot of 4am alarm clocks! This Saturday, Oct 25, we invite our PLP families to join us at St Croix Saddlery as we celebrate the end of another successful show season. Scoring over the entire season the top six horses and riders are labeled FINALISTS with 1s
