Kelsey Jurek Testimonial

FROM ADVANCED STUDENT: Kelsey Jurek

Congratulations on a safe, productive, and blessed year. It was once again a pleasure working with and under you, and I look forward to the next year as well. You are truely an angel to many people including myself and everyone appreciates the work you do more than you know. Next year will see more fun, more blessings, and more A-rated hunter shows (it is because of YOU we are showing A-rated - thank you for your encouragement and support as well as your FANTASTIC teaching! I'm sure everyone is looking forward to getting your name out there at shows again this coming year!)! Thank you once again, much love as always, Kelsey

Granddaughter Visits on the way to MAYO clinic

By the way. My best friend Lanette took her granddaughter out to the pony place (Pine Lake Pastures/ Personal Ponies) and her report was fantastic. She said they had a wonderful time and were treated like royalty and that all the little girl talks about is going back for a visit. Thank you Kelsey for introducing  us to new friends. Diana

2 months Training at Pine Lake Pastures- Talitha: Dr. Kari Miller's testimony

A year ago I adopted a small bay mare from Minnesota Hooved Animal Rescue. Her story was heartbreaking. She and another 2 week old colt had been separated from their mothers, they were found in a feed lot with a group of yearlings.

The foals were treated for parasites and infections and injuries, they did well. The yearlings did not. Because of the filly's recovery from almost certain death (thanks to the volunteers of MnHAR), she was named Talitha.

Tali is a smart athletic little horse. Groundwork had been started but she reacted strongly to anything she perceived as a threat, which was anything new to her. My attempts at training did not get far. Billy at Lake Elmo Feed suggested I call Cheri Morton who answered the call promptly and came to my home! with her wonderful daughters to work with Talitha. After several sessions at my home, it was decided to take her training up a notch. Talitha was sent away to boarding school at Pine Lake Pastures. I sent a horse who did not know how to walk forward with a rider on her back, refused to take a bit and had little respect for a human's personal space and got back a horse who can collect at walk, trot, and canter; who can take jumps beautifully, whose ground manners are much more respectful. She still has a bit of the wild animal in her and will let me know when I am not as solid a rider as I could be. But I now have a horse who will be a great and loving companion for many years. Thanks Cheri, thanks Tom, Meredith, Hannah, Rebecca and Mookie! Thanks all the volunteers at Pine Lake Pastures!

Both Julie and I are very happy with what you are doing for our kids, which I think goes beyond teaching them to ride a horse.     Alan

Letter from Brandee

Hi Cheri!  I wanted to thank you and your girls so much for sincerely welcoming us to your farm yesterday!  I was overwhelmed with your compassion and kindness and we were blessed by your family!  Your farm also has a very peaceful spirit about it!

Your farm is exactly what I was looking for as a place to volunteer at!  Your high respect and value for all people (and animals!) and your genuine-ness was very encouraging to me. And my dear boy absolutely loved our visit!  Last night and numerous times today we played "visiting the farm" where he "set up" his bed with his stuffed animals and we pretended to be Mookie, Rebecca, Hannah and you!  That was all on his own thinking!  One way I know that he enjoyed something is when he plays things out.  The other neat thing is that today he was painting and I asked him if he wanted to paint some pictures for your girls and he said, "Yes!"  That is huge because he always says, "no" (except if it's for Daddy), even when I mention it for his Grandpa's and Grandma's.  He worked diligently for an hour, no kidding, painting pictures for your girls.  :)  That was sweet for me to see!

Thank you so much Cheri!

Letter from Christine

By the way, Madeline was so pumped after her last lesson, feeling very confident that she succeeded in controlling Kahn (sp?) to not trot and then to trot when she needed him to. It was a big stressor of hers prior to arriving on Sat. She did not want to ride at all and definately did not want that horse. I was proud to see her overcome her fears and face her challenges. She talked about how great it was all the way home and then has wanted to show everyone how she can trot on
her horse. It was a big fear that is now overcome thanks to you. I am very thankful for your amazing skill with kids and horses (not to mention adults too). I hope she will share her success with you when you see her on Saturday and maybe build on it a little.

Thanks again! Christine
